Windows 7 operating system still has a fascination to this day. But, for some users, sometimes animated feature included in Windows 7 make decreased PC performance and make the process run more slowly. There are several ways to increase the performance of Windows 7:

Turn Off The Automatic Disk Defragmentation

Always-on defragment feature and the Windows Vista is not too important to be used and can cause a decrease in performance. If you will turn off the service, keep doing defrag manually every few weeks or do when necessary. The trick is:

  • Click "Start".
  • Select "Computer".
  • Right click on drive C.
  • Select the "Tools" tab.
  • Click on "Defragment now".
  • Clear the option to "Run On A Schedule".
  • Do it on another drive if needed.

Turn Off The Windows Search Indexing

Search indexing in Windows 7 will be done constantly to check the files on the system that is useful to speed up the search process. But, this can cause a significant impact on the performance decline. How to turn off indexing:

  • Click "Start".
  • Select "Computer".
  • Right click on drive C.
  • On the General tab, clear the option "Index this drive for faster searching".
  • In the dialog box that appears, choose to include changes to subfolders and files.
  • Do the same thing on another drive if you have more than one partition / hard drive.

Activate The Windows Ready Boost

Ready Boost or Additional Memory Cache is the name that Microsoft uses to use a USB thumb / flash drive to provide faster access to memory on the operating system and can be used as additional RAM. ReadyBoost can improve system performance significantly. How to use Ready Boost:

  • Plug in a "USB Flash Drive".
  • Click "Start" and select "Computer".
  • Right click on "USB Drive" in "My Computer".
  • Select the tab "Ready Boost".
  • Select "use this device".
  • Select the amount of space that will be used for USB "storage RAM Usage".

Turn Off The Remote Differential Compression

Remote Differential Compression is used to measure changes in the file on the network to send the file to the bandwidth as small as possible without having to send the entire file is received or sent earlier. Actually, Remote Differential Compression is quite useful. But, by doing constant checks on file changes, this service can disturb system performance. How to turn off the service:

  • Go to "Control Panel".
  • Moved to the "Classic View".
  • Select "Program Features".
  • Select "Turn Windows features on and off".
  • Scroll down and clear the option "Remote Differential Compression".

Turn Off The Windows Hibernation

Hibernation Windows service can use the system resources are sufficiently large that it affects the performance. If not overused, it's better off to provide extra performance on Windows 7 and freeing up space used for the hibernation file size depends on the amount of RAM. How to turn off Windows Hibernation:

  • Go to "Control Panel".
  • Select "System and Security".
  • Select "Power Options".
  • Click the "Change Plan Settings".
  • Open the option "Sleep".
  • Open the option "Hibernate After".
  • Change the option to 0/nol.
  • Click "apply".
  • Do it on another power plan.

Turn Off The System Restore

Analysis and restore point creation by Windows Vista can spend considerable system resources. If you disable this service means the "System Restore" can not be used in case of error or system malfunction. How to turn off System Restore:

  • Go to "Control Panel".
  • Select "System".
  • Click the "System Protection" in the left panel.
  • Clear the option "main system drive".
  • Approve confirmation.

Turn Off Any Windows Service

Windows 7 has many default services as well as on Windows XP are loading at startup that may be used by the user, especially the Ultimate version of Windows 7. To view the current service loading startup and turn off unused, could use this way:

  • Go to "Control Panel".
  • Select the 'Administrative Tools'.
  • Select "System Configuration".
  • Click on the tab "Services Tab".
  • Select the Best Performance
  • Eliminate almost all animations are on Vista or 7. Just like Windows XP, Windows 7 or Vista also has Best Performance option. The trick is:
  • Kill the right icon "Computer".
  • Select "Properties".
  • In the "System", select "Advanced System Settings".
